Collective Worship takes place every Wednesday morning across our school. Once each half term, children will invite their parents to join us. We look forward to seeing you there.
Collective Worship in Class 3 gives us the opportunity to:
Consider spiritual and moral issues and to explore our own beliefs
Participate and respond
Develop community spirit, promote a common ethos and shared values, and
reinforce positive attitudes
Class 3 and 4 explored the events after Jesus' death. We discussed what the bible says about Jesus' Ressurection and focuses on the difference in church on Good Friday and Easter Sunday. We explored the symbolism of the different flowers in Christianity and how they are used as a celebration of Jesus. Our flower cross mirrors the celebration in church.
Father Ravi visited to help Mrs Johnson with our Sacrament of Reconciliation. We reflected on things that we were not proud of or things that we wished we could change. Writing them on our handprints symbolised us offering this as a sign of peace. Well done to all of the children who were very mature and respectful during this service.
We had a very exciting last day of Spring term. We looked at the story of Jesus' death and the event leading up to Good Friday. We created some beautiful art work in class and decided to share it with our local parishioners. We walked down to church and even had one of our class members pretending to be Jesus and carry our cross. The children did themselves proud and walked respectfully to our church. Father Ravi, Mrs Woodhead and the parishioners enjoyed our prayers from all the different stations of the cross and especially enjoyed our hot cross buns!!
