Spring One - Islamic Civilization

Why was the Islamic civilization known as the Golden Age?

During this half term we will learn about the Islamic civilization and the impact it had on the world. Next, we will learn where the Middle East is and particulary, Baghdad. Then, we will learn why they were considered an advanced society in relation to that period of time in Europe. After that, we will learn why it was known as the Golden age. Finally, we will learn about the Prophet Muhammad.

In English, we will be focusing on the text 'The Selfish Giant'.

In Maths, we will be developing our knowledge of measurement first, then we will be moving onto ratio, algebra and decimals.
