Toni Woodhead               CHAIR OF GOVERNORS

I have been a governor at St Augustine's Primary School for four years and I am very honoured to be the Chairperson. I am a retired secondary school teacher and I have found working in a primary school to be very interesting and rewarding. I am proud of this school and I want everyone to know how well this school works and how outstanding the pupils are.

Christine Smith               VICE CHAIR OF GOVERNORS

I retired as headteacher of a local Catholic primary school after 40 years of teaching in Runcorn. I was then asked to become a governor of St Augustine's. I have many fond memories of teaching here in the 1980's.

Father Ravi Bosco.           PARISH PRIEST

Nina Chwastek              SAFEGUARDING GOVERNOR

I am in my second term as a Foundation Governor at St. Augustine's. I bring my expertise in education to this role. I am a member of the Finance Committee but also the nominated Safeguarding Governor. I have spent my whole career in education, currently working as Headteacher at a large Catholic primary school in Manchester. I am committed to ensuring our children at St. Augustine's have the best chances in life. This means not only promoting high academic standards but also personal and social development to give our children the skills to succeed.

Jean Ward

This is my first year as a governor at St Augustine’s school and I’m delighted to be involved with the school. I have connections going back to the very early days of St Augustine’s as my mum was a dinner lady and my younger brother and sister were amongst the first intake of pupils. I am passionate about supporting children to have the best start in life, and I look forward to contributing to the success of the school.

I currently work in the education department at Halton Borough Council, although my background includes working at a local primary school and a children’s charity.

Judith Hughes                  SEND GOVERNOR

I am a mum of three teenagers and my youngest child will be sitting her GCSE’s next year. I currently work full time at Halton Borough Council as Specialist Teacher for Cognition and Learning. I have been in this role for 5 years. My passion is ensuring children with additional needs achieve their potential and experience success in school. I have visited St Augustine’s many times and have always been impressed with the fantastic attitude and behaviour of the children.

I am looking forward to supporting St Augustine’s continue to sustain the excellent progress that the children make in school.

Penny Johnson.                    STAFF GOVERNOR

I have been a teacher at St Augustine's for 4 years and currently teach Year 6 and lead Mathematics across our school. I am so proud to be part of the St Augustine's team and I'm really enjoying growing and learning with our fantastic children, staff and parents. Being part of the journey of St. Augustine's is very important to me- it is a privilege to work in such a warm and friendly school.
